My name is Erin and I live in Minnesota with my husband and our pet seal (just kidding, it's only a stuffed animal).  We do have a cat, though.  I don't have any kids, nor do I want any, so this is not a "mommy blog".  However, I do enjoy writing and expressing my opinion.  If I find a tasty recipe, a cool product, a fun website, or anything else interesting, I want to share it with you.


Origin of my blog:

I had my own website in 1997 (Random's Gate), the name of which was a play on the Heaven's Gate UFO religion controversy.  The site itself had no religious context, but was a mishmash of things I found interesting.  Also, it had a pretty boss logo.  In 2001, I started my first blog, but it was worthless twaddle, as was the one I started in 2004.  I gave up on blogging until January 2011, when I started writing here.  The name "coffee level critical" is a play on a device's battery running low ("battery level critical"), except with my lifeblood, coffee, instead.
